17 October 2026. XREAL’s new 1 Pro+ display glasses are listed in its UK store for £599. The headline upgrades are a brighter image, improved fit and 60fps conversion of ordinary content into spatial 3D. For anyone who already owns the One Pro, the interesting question is whether those changes warrant another purchase.

What is new?
XREAL quotes 1,200 nits maximum perceived brightness for the 1 Pro+, with AI HDR intended to reveal more detail in highlights and shadows. “Perceived” is the brightness through the optics, not a direct measurement of the Micro-OLED panels. It is a promising specification, but how much better it looks in a bright room will need hands-on testing.
The glasses also offer Real 3D at 60fps, converting photos, videos, livestreams and games directly on the glasses without extra software. XREAL has revised the nose pad and made the temples adjustable to help keep the displays aligned and comfortable. Buyers choose a medium or large interpupillary-distance (IPD) size; getting that choice right matters as much as any specification on paper.

AR glasses, not a standalone VR headset
The 1 Pro+ gives you a large private screen from a connected device. XREAL’s X1 chip handles spatial display processing on the glasses: Follow mode keeps the screen in front of you, while 3DoF Anchor mode fixes it in a chosen direction as you turn your head. For a screen that stays in a physical spot as you move around, 6DoF spatial anchoring needs the optional XREAL Eye. Feature availability and compatibility can vary.
That makes these a different proposition from a self-contained headset such as Meta Quest. Think portable cinema, handheld gaming and a screen for a laptop, with a cable and a compatible source device still part of the setup.
Should One Pro owners upgrade?
The brighter image and revised fit are the clearest hardware reasons to consider the 1 Pro+, particularly if your current glasses are uncomfortable or you use them in brighter surroundings. The 57-degree field of view, X1 chip and basic connected-screen idea will feel familiar. If your One Pro already fits and looks bright enough, it is worth waiting for independent side-by-side impressions before spending £599.
